Let's start from the very beginning. . .

Hey There! My name is Emily and I’m going BRIDAL. I am an actress living in NYC and I am planning a wedding 3 hours away in beautiful Saratoga Springs NY. Saratoga is my hometown and even as a little girl I knew it was the perfect place to get married.

This blog is going to be about the process of planning a long distance wedding. I’m gonna let you in on as much as I can before the big day! But first here’s a little background on Jason and me.

Jason and I met 4 and ½ years ago down in East Tennessee. I was working in a show at Dollywood- yup that’s right, Dolly Parton’s very own theme park, and Jason’s dad, Tim was working on the same show. Jason came to visit his dad for Christmas and that’s when we first met. I had the BIGGEST crush on Jason, but he had a girlfriend, so I figured it wasn’t meant to be and went on my way. Life took me back up North to New York City, and Jason who was enlisted in the Air Force was sent to Korea for a year. We lost touch for a while until June 2009 when he sent me a facebook message from where he was stationed in Iraq. I quickly checked to see that his facebook relationship status read “single” and I figured it was game on!

We continued keeping in touch through email and phone until Jason eventually fulfilled his duty with the Air Force and moved to NYC, and that’s when the fun really began!

We dated for just under a year and got engaged in the Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania last September. If you have never been, the Pocono’s are amazing. It was a very beautiful, relaxing and romantic weekend.

Now we are planning a June 18, 2011 wedding at the National Museum of Dance. I am in LOVE with the venue. I grew up taking ballet lessons and I auditioned several times at the museum to dance with the NYC Ballet Company during their summer stays in Saratoga. Our ceremony is going to take place in the foyer of the museum, it’s a gorgeous room, all white and pale blue and very clean lines with beautiful crown molding. I just LOVE it.

With only 85 days till the wedding, its go time! There’s a lot to do and my mom, my maid of honor (Macy) and I are determined to DO IT!

Going Bridal,
Emily
